IBOAI History
Many
of you won’t remember the 1950’s, but it was a time of economic growth
and great optimism. During this time, at the end of the decade, the
business opportunity that would become
Quixtar.com was starting to take
off. From this very exciting beginning, the entrepreneurs who have
embraced the opportunity have had a strong, active voice in the
business.
Today that voice
is the
Independent
Business Owners Association International (IBOAI or
IBOA International)—a
clear, open channel of communication with
Quixtar
Inc. and an association that any IBO can support. Guided by a Board of
Directors elected from among their IBO peers, the Association provides
ongoing interaction and partnering with
Quixtar
Inc. to make this Internet-based business the best it can be.

IBOAI Five Principles
The
IBOAI’s
seven original
Board members
supported five key principles in developing their business opportunity.
These five principles remain as true today as they were then.
-
The business offers a universal opportunity, available to people
from all walks of life.
-
Success is based on repeat business and long-term relationships.
There's no room for shortcuts or fly-by-night operators. Your word
is your worth, and your worth is your word!
-
The opportunity offers impressive growth potential with a modest
initial startup cost and without area restrictions. Intangible
benefits include supportive relationships and the fact that it's
well-suited to participation by the whole family.
-
The business offers products and services people always need and
use, and thus is not at the mercy of economic fluctuations. This was
very significant to the original Board members who had personal
memories of the Great Depression.
-
The business is the perfect embodiment of the free enterprise
concept.

IBOAI Membership
Although
the
IBOAI works for the benefit of all IBOs, membership is voluntary.
When an IBO registers or renews, the voluntary contribution is part of
the start-up fee.
Quixtar Inc. collects and processes the contribution,
withholding a 1% processing fee and sending the balance to the
IBOA
International.
This year’s
voluntary contribution is $9.
