Quixtar.com.
Registration
happens only once. However, each year IBOs and Members must renew their
status through
Quixtar.com. Clients must register initially but are not
required to renew.
What is an
IBO?
An IBO is
literally an Independent Business Owner: an individual, couple, or small
group of individuals who own and operate their own business, which is
powered by
Quixtar. IBOs are the CEOs of their own businesses, and they
make the same daily business decisions other business executives make.
What is a Customer?
A Customer is someone
who registers with
Quixtar.com for the right to order
quality products and services,
including exclusive brands and special offers.
Who should
register as what?
It’s fairly
straightforward:
-
If you want to
start your own independent business, register as an IBO (Independent
Business Owner). You will own and run your own business, with all
the successes and challenges of running any business, but here your
success will depend on what you achieve, not on what others above
you allow you to achieve.
-
If you like
access to our top brands but don’t intend to order on a regular
basis, register as a Customer. You’ll still get convenient delivery to
your door and great customer service.

About PDPs
What are PDPs?
PDPs are
Professional Development Programs. Most industries and professions have
them, featuring key players in the field offering tips and techniques
for professional improvement, motivational presentations, and additional
materials in the form of books, tapes, and seminars or conferences. With
Quixtar-related PDPs, programs are created by people who have been where
you are and can help you get to where they are in the business.
PDPs often combine
elements of seminars, conferences, and meetings in a single setting.
Emphasis can be on motivation (to help increase progress toward business
goals), basics (to increase basic business knowledge), and instruction
(to increase awareness of products, services, and tips-and-techniques).
They often recognize IBOs (Independent Business Owners) who have
accomplished their goals and qualified for new achievement levels, plus
they spotlight new products and services, and they provide access to
learning materials like tapes, videos, and books.
What’s difference
between a seminar, a conference, and a meeting? Here is what the
Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary says:
-
Seminar:
“…a
meeting for giving and discussing information.” (Often in a more
academic setting.)
-
Conference:
“…a meeting of two or more persons for discussing matters of common
concern.” (Often a group with wider interests, such as professionals
or athletes.)
-
Meeting:
“a. to come face-to-face; b. to come together for a common purpose.”

Controversies
MLMs Versus
Pyramids
In the early days
of multi-level marketing (MLM), the business model was sometimes called
a “pyramid.” However, in those days unethical entrepreneurs became
involved who chose to operate illegally and the MLM industry gained a
bad name through association.
Today, there are
still unethical entrepreneurs taking advantage of their association
with legitimate businesses. The FTC regards them as “pyramids” and not
legitimate MLMs.
Quixtar prides itself on being one of the good guys.
Its Rules of Conduct and Code of Ethics, which help guard against
unscrupulous people, are a standard for the industry.
Quixtar Inc. and
the IBOA International work diligently to educate and protect IBOs and
their downlines from unethical schemes.
After lengthy
study, the FTC regards
Quixtar Inc. as an MLM business, not a pyramid.
How much money can
you make in a business powered by
Quixtar?
Some IBOs get
involved in
Quixtar.com to add a little extra income to their other
sources of income. Others decide to leave their other sources of income,
hoping to build a large income solely through
Quixtar.com. Lots of IBOs
operate somewhere in between. Their success is dependent upon a number
of factors, not the least of which is their willingness to put in the
hours and effort required to be successful in any business. IBOs
achieve a wide range of success levels, depending on their
criteria.
Quixtar and
Amway
- Not one and the same
Quixtar’s
Independent Business Ownership Plan is similar to
Amway’s, but
otherwise the two business models are different.
Quixtar is unique
as an e-commerce model, relying heavily on the Internet to handle
everyday business transactions such as ordering products, registering
new IBOs or renewing existing ones, business support and customer
service functions, and keeping track of business growth. Anyone who is
an IBO or Customer can order products for delivery to their home,
their apartment, their office, or to a friend.
Amway does not
operate in North America. It is a separate business model that operates
in Central and South America, Europe, Asia, Australia, and other parts
of the world. It runs much as
Amway once operated in North America with
product ordering, billing, and distribution handled by Platinum and
above IBOs. The business is operated differently in most countries
because of cultural or legal differences, but the basics are the same
from country to country. The biggest differences are with
Amway in
China, where people and the government are still trying to iron out how
entrepreneurship should work in their society – it’s actually true for
all MLMs (Multi-Level Marketing companies).
How are pin
levels attained?
Contrary to rumor,
no one can “get” a pin level. Every single one of them is earned,
whether it’s Platinum, Diamond, or Crown Ambassador – or the many other
levels. IBOs must qualify for each pin level based on a strictly
observed set of standards. A pin level is not dependent on how much
money someone earns but on how many points he or she builds up each
month selling products and helping others in their business organization
do the same.
Terms you may run
into
IBOs:
Independent Business Owners. Entrepreneurs who start their own
businesses with
Quixtar.com, which they run independently.
Customers:
Consumers who
sign on with
Quixtar.com to purchase products at suggested retail price.
Upline:
An IBO who
registers Members and IBOs beneath him in his organization. Describes
the IBOs who are above you in the line of sponsorship.
Downline:
An IBO who is registered under another IBO within a line of sponsorship.
He is “downline” from his sponsoring IBO.
Pin:
A casual reference to an achievement level, such as “the Diamond pin
level.” More specifically, however, a “pin” refers to an actual pin or
piece of jewelry that an IBO receives upon achieving a specific success
level. For instance, when an IBO reaches the Diamond level, he will
receive a Diamond Pin, which all IBOs recognize as signifying his
achievement.
Front-end
Loading:
Quixtar Inc.
prohibits “front-end loading,” meaning the prior purchase of a large
volume of merchandise, the cost of which in pyramids the purchaser eats.
